Samsung has faced significant frustration from Galaxy S24, S23, and S22 users due to continuous delays in rolling out updates. Over the past few months, the release of the One UI 7 beta has been repeatedly postponed, with expectations now set for late September or early October.

Additionally, the stable version of One UI 6.1.1 has taken longer than anticipated to be widely available, despite the update reaching European and American Galaxy S24 and S23 users by early September. As of now, Galaxy S22 owners have begun receiving the update, although the delay has left many users displeased.

Reports indicate that a Galaxy S22 in South Korea has received the One UI 6.1.1 update, suggesting that the rollout for that model has commenced in that region. Although the source of this report remains unverified, it aligns with Samsung’s earlier announcement that the Galaxy S22 would be eligible for this update.

The screenshot shared on forums and social media adds credibility, even though the authenticity of this particular report remains in question. Nevertheless, it seems likely that the rollout has begun in multiple regions.

The delays in both the One UI 6.1.1 and the One UI 7 beta have been a major source of frustration for Samsung users. Initially, in June, there were rumors that One UI 7 might be postponed in favor of completing the stable version of One UI 6.1.1.

Since then, both updates have taken far longer to arrive than anticipated. Despite the delays, a bug-riddled version of One UI 6.1.1 was released for the Galaxy S23 Ultra, including a camera zoom glitch, raising concerns about the quality of the updates being pushed out.

Expectations for One UI 7 are high, as it promises significant improvements to Samsung’s Android skin. Reports suggest it could feature design changes making it resemble Apple’s iOS, along with new functionalities like satellite connectivity and camera app enhancements for easier one-handed use.

Given the scope of these changes, the prolonged wait for the beta version is somewhat understandable, but it has still left many Samsung users disappointed with the pace of development.

While Samsung’s efforts to enhance its software with One UI 7 may lead to substantial improvements, the persistent delays and issues with One UI 6.1.1 have left users questioning the company’s approach.

Many believe Samsung needs to focus more on hardware innovation rather than constantly overhauling software features, especially in a market that some feel is becoming stagnant. Users hope that the eventual release of One UI 7 will be free of the bugs and issues seen in recent updates.
