Samsung is rolling out its final update of 2024 for its Galaxy devices, following its usual monthly update schedule. The update includes nearly 30 high-priority security patches, along with one critical patch related to Qualcomm chipsets, designated as CVE-2024-38408. This patch is also included in the security updates for other Android devices.
One notable aspect of this update is the absence of One UI 7, which Samsung has confirmed will not be fully released until 2025. While the beta program for One UI 7 is currently available, it is limited to the Galaxy S24 series, with two beta updates having already been released. Users of other devices will have to wait until next year for the full release of the new software version.
The December 2024 security update is being gradually rolled out across various Samsung Galaxy devices, with availability depending on region, carrier, and other factors. The update has already been made available for several devices, including the Galaxy S24, S23, S22, and S21 series, as well as the Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy A54.
