China-Europe Train

Last year, 2023, marked the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Spain and the 10th anniversary of the joint construction of the “Belt and Road” initiative.

On March 9, 2023, a train carrying standard containers of Spanish wine, olive oil, and other Spanish specialty products set off from Madrid to China (Zhejiang Yiwu).

Simultaneously, another train, “Yi-Xin-Europe,” departed from China to Spain. This demonstrates the growing impact and expansion of the “Yi-Xin-Europe” initiative, which has become a crucial link connecting China and Spain.

The “Yi-Xin-Europe” train significantly promotes bilateral trade, playing a vital role in trade between the two countries.

The train from Spain to China allows Spanish specialty products to be quickly imported into the Chinese market, satisfying Chinese consumers.

Meanwhile, China exports numerous specialty products to Spain, such as tea leaves, epidemic prevention supplies, cross-border e-commerce products, and cars. This creates vast opportunities for both Chinese and Spanish markets.

In recent years, economic and trade relations between China and Spain have strengthened solidly, with the volume of goods trade between the two countries exceeding $50 billion for the first time in 2022.

Looking ahead, the “Yi-Xin-Europe” train will continue to play an essential role under the “One Belt, One Road” policy. Both sides highly welcome the importation of products into their respective countries.

With e-commerce, enterprises can monitor the real-time status of cargo transportation and enhance logistics efficiency by developing a logistics platform.

The “Yi-Xin-Europe” route may expand to other European and Chinese cities, increasing cargo diversity and improving train utilization frequency to meet market demand.

This expansion will not only strengthen the economies of both countries but also bring more benefits to consumers in China and Spain.
