The Kid Collective, an e-commerce retailer based in Leicestershire, has completed the acquisition of Scandibørn, a supplier renowned for its Scandinavian-inspired children’s toys, interiors, and accessories.
The deal, whose financial details remain undisclosed, signifies a significant stride in The Kid Collective’s strategic expansion into the nursery sector.
Laura Davies, Founder and CEO of The Kid Collective Ltd, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, emphasizing its importance in the company’s growth trajectory.
She stated, “We are so excited to welcome Scandibørn to The Kid Collective family.
This acquisition represents a pivotal moment in our journey of growth within the industry, and we look forward to leveraging our expertise to continue to provide the Scandiborn community with products we know they’ll love!”
By integrating Scandibørn and its established customer base into its operations, The Kid Collective Ltd aims to diversify its e-commerce portfolio and extend its reach to a broader audience.
Scandibørn will maintain its offerings of purpose-led gifts, childrenswear, maternity products, and interior accessories for newborns through toddlers, while The Kid Collective remains focused on play, targeting toddlers and the early years category.
Chris Mahady, CEO of Findel Education Ltd, expressed satisfaction with the acquisition, noting that it aligns with the company’s strategic goals. He stated, “We are extremely pleased to have found Scandibørn a great new home with The Kid Collective, where it will become part of a fully focused online retail consumer business.”
Mahady emphasized that this decision was made in the context of Findel’s recent change in ownership, with the acquisition by Manutan, enabling Findel to concentrate resources on its core education brands in the B2B sector.
