McLaren Solus Debuts As A Single Seater!

McLaren Solus Debuts As A Single Seater!

McLaren has something special in store for us at this year's Monterey Car Week.

The company only produces 25 of these, and each has a buyer. The deliveries will commence in 2023.

The Solus, inspired by open-wheel race cars, is unveiled by the brand.

The Solus is powered by a Judd-sourced 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine that produces 829 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque.

It can reach 10,000 rpm and is a structural component of the chassis.

McLaren expects the vehicle to hit 62 mph in 2.5 seconds and have a top speed of more than 200 mph.

The Solus weighs less than 2,205 pounds, but the body can generate almost 2,646 pounds of downforce.

The front bodywork reveals the pushrod-operated dampers, and the rear has pull rods.

The Solus has a single seat and a sliding canopy that allows the driver to enter the vehicle.
