Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently shared insights about two upcoming Apple products expected to be released in the coming years. According to Kuo, Apple is planning to launch a smart home camera and a new version of its AirPods with enhanced health management features.
The smart home camera is expected to enter mass production in 2026, with Apple aiming to sell tens of millions of units over the long term. Kuo noted that the camera would feature wireless connectivity and be deeply integrated with Apple’s AI and Siri, though further details about its capabilities remain unclear.
This smart home camera is anticipated to be part of Apple’s broader push into home automation. Kuo’s mention of mass production beginning in 2026 aligns with previous rumors, though it remains uncertain whether this camera is the same product as an earlier-reported smart home display, which is rumored to arrive as soon as 2025.
The 2026 timeline for the camera suggests that it could play a significant role in Apple’s long-term strategy for smart home devices, potentially complementing or enhancing its HomeKit ecosystem.
In addition to the smart home camera, Kuo revealed that future models of AirPods will focus more on health management. These upgraded AirPods are expected to include new health-related features, similar to those found in the Apple Watch.
While Kuo did not specify which features would be included, the addition of health sensors seems likely. Past rumors have speculated about the possibility of AirPods incorporating sensors to measure body temperature or even monitor heart rate, similar to Apple’s Powerbeats Pro 2, which is set to include heart rate monitoring during workouts.
Kuo also highlighted that Chinese manufacturer Goertek would serve as the primary supplier for both the new AirPods and the smart home camera. Goertek has long been a key supplier for Apple, particularly in the production of wearable devices like AirPods, and its involvement in assembling both of these new products indicates the scale at which Apple plans to develop them. The company’s role will likely be crucial in ensuring that both products meet Apple’s high standards for quality and functionality.
These announcements suggest that Apple is continuing to expand its ecosystem of health and smart home products. The new smart home camera and health-focused AirPods will likely play an important role in Apple’s strategy to integrate more health tracking and home automation into its devices. With production scheduled for 2026, both products are still years away from launch, but their potential to shape the future of Apple’s offerings in the smart home and health tech markets is significant.
