Gameloft announced Tuesday that Disney Dreamlight Valley’s upcoming expansion, Storybook Vale, will be available on November 20.
The expansion is priced at $29.99 on its own, with an option to purchase the base game and Storybook Vale together for $59.99. The expansion will be released in two parts.
The first part, titled “Welcome to the Vale,” introduces a new storyline, three new biomes, and several beloved characters, including Merida from Brave, Flynn Rider from Tangled, and Hades from Hercules.
A new tool called the Royal Net allows players to capture adorable papercraft animals. The three new biomes—Ever After, the Bind, and Mythopia—each come with unique companion animals, such as dragons, owls, and winged horses, respectively.
The second part of Storybook Vale, named “The Unwritten Realms,” is set to arrive in summer 2025 and will add the iconic Disney villain Maleficent to the game.
Gameloft shared details about the expansion during a game showcase on Tuesday, which also included information on upcoming free updates for Disney Dreamlight Valley.
On December 4, players can look forward to the “Sew Delightful” update, which will bring an array of customization options to the game, along with Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas joining the character roster.
One of the new features, Floating Islands, allows players to freely decorate a dedicated open area using items they’ve collected, while preserving their Valley’s existing layout.
Additionally, a notable change is coming to item rotation—where previously items could only be rotated on four points, this update expands that to 16 points, offering greater customization flexibility.
The showcase also provided a content roadmap, hinting at future characters like Jasmine and Aladdin arriving in early 2025, and the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland sometime later in the year. Additionally, a new area beneath Skull Rock is expected to open in summer 2025.
Currently, Disney Dreamlight Valley has one previous expansion, A Rift in Time, which is available with the base game and Storybook Vale for $79.99.
For those who already own the base game, a bundle with Storybook Vale and exclusive items, including a baby Pegasus companion, is available for $49.99.
