Disney to Integrate Hulu Subscription With Disney Plus Plan

Disney Offering ESPN and Hulu

Disney is starting to introduce a Hulu integration on its Disney+ streaming platform, aiming to bundle subscribers. The complete rollout is scheduled for March 2024, Disney announced on Wednesday.

Currently, Disney offers a bundle of Disney+ and Hulu, but Wednesday’s release marks the beginning of efforts to more closely integrate the two platforms.

Last month, Disney reached an agreement to acquire the remaining one-third stake in Hulu from Comcast’s NBCUniversal.

The Hulu integration is available to subscribers of the bundle, although it is currently limited in scope, according to a Disney website post.

Here are the current Disney streaming prices:

  • Disney+ with ads: $7.99 per month
  • Disney+ without ads: $13.99 per month
  • Hulu with ads: $7.99 per month
  • Hulu without ads: $17.99 per month
  • Disney+ and Hulu with ads: $9.99 per month
  • Disney+ and Hulu without ads: $19.99 per month
  • Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ with ads: $14.99 per month
  • Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ without ads: $24.99 per month

Joe Earley, Disney’s president of direct-to-consumer, commented, “It’s an unbelievable value in terms of the price point for the Bundle.

Beyond providing this experience to our existing Bundle subscribers, we hope to encourage Disney+ and Hulu standalone subscribers to upgrade to the Bundle once they see all that’s available.”

Disney+ and Hulu offer different types of content, with Disney+ focused on family-friendly programming and Hulu catering more to adult dramas and unscripted TV.

The phased rollout of the integration will allow parents to adjust parental controls before the full launch in March, according to Disney.

This integration comes amid a growing trend of streaming bundles. Recently, Paramount and Apple have been reported to be considering a bundle of their respective streaming services.

Netflix and Warner Bros. Discovery’s Max have also teamed up with Verizon to offer a combined package. Disney first announced its bundle of Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu in 2019.
