Microsoft has unveiled a new product, but it’s not a game or an Xbox console. The company is introducing an Xbox-branded credit card in collaboration with Barclays in the U.S.

The Xbox Mastercard, which comes with no annual fee, offers several benefits that may appeal to gamers.

Cardholders can earn 5x points on purchases from the Microsoft Store, and 3x points on streaming services like Netflix and Disney+. Additionally, the card provides 3x points on orders from Grubhub and DoorDash, and 1x points on all other purchases.

As a bonus, new cardholders will receive 5,000 points, equivalent to about $50, after their first purchase, along with three months of Game Pass Ultimate. If the cardholder is already a Game Pass subscriber, they can gift this subscription to someone else.

The Xbox Mastercard can be personalized with one of five different designs, with an option to add a gamertag.

Microsoft hasn’t mentioned if there’s an extra cost for this personalization.

The Xbox Mastercard will be accessible to Xbox Insiders in the U.S. starting September 21, with general availability beginning in 2024.

For more information on the Xbox Mastercard, including interest rates and other important details, be sure to review the fine print.

Notably, the terms indicate that anyone whose Microsoft account is suspended or locked will lose access to the card’s benefits, suggesting that violating Microsoft’s code of conduct could result in a loss of credit card perks.

The card’s APRs range from 20.99% to 31.99%, depending on the cardholder’s creditworthiness.
