Playstation Showcase To Reveal Upcoming Games Announced for Next Week

Playstation Showcase

Sony has announced that an hour-long PlayStation Showcase will occur next week on May 24, highlighting upcoming games for the PS5 and PSVR 2.

The event, detailed in a PlayStation Blog post, will begin at 1pm Pacific / 3pm Eastern / 9pm UK (which translates to 9am on May 25 AEST) and will run for “a bit over an hour” on PlayStation’s YouTube and Twitch channels.

Although specifics about the event remain unclear, Sony has assured that the showcase will feature games in development from “top studios around the world” and provide “a glimpse at several new creations from PlayStation Studios,” in addition to offerings from third-party and indie partners.

Sony has multiple projects underway at PlayStation Studios that might be featured in the showcase.

Playstation – Sony

One of the most anticipated titles is Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which is expected to release in the fall of 2023, despite having shown only minimal details so far.

Another notable PlayStation Studios developer is Naughty Dog, which is currently working on several new games and had earlier this year teased its Last of Us multiplayer project.

Sony has promised “several new creations,” suggesting that the showcase may include announcements of entirely new games.

It has been some time since Sony last hosted a comprehensive PlayStation Showcase, as the company generally prefers smaller State of Play events that focus on individual games.

The last full PlayStation Showcase took place in September 2021, where the publisher officially revealed God of War: Ragnarok, announced Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine, and Aspyr revealed the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake.
