The Nintendo Switch 2, still under development, has yet to be officially revealed by Nintendo, but a recent possible leak has generated significant speculation among fans. While there has been no formal announcement regarding the console’s release, a leaked trailer from peripheral manufacturer Satisfye has caught the attention of the gaming community. The trailer, which was eventually removed, featured the ZenGrip 2, an attachment set to launch alongside the Switch 2, and briefly displayed what some believe could be the new console.
Sharp-eyed fans were quick to spot the blurred image of a device resembling the Switch 2 in the background of the trailer. Twitter user “DP19” shared a screenshot before it was taken down, suggesting that this blurry image could be the first official look at the upcoming console. According to DP19, the image wasn’t too heavily blurred, but still left many details unclear. Despite this, it has become a major talking point for those excited about the new system.
The image shows a console that looks quite similar to the original Switch but with a notable difference: an additional button on the Joy-Cons, a feature that has appeared in previous leaks. Reactions from fans have been mixed, with some expressing excitement at the possibility of seeing the new design, while others feel the console “just looks like a Switch.” The added button has sparked curiosity, as it could indicate a new functionality, but otherwise, the overall design doesn’t seem to stray far from the original model.
While there’s been a lot of discussion, some fans remain skeptical, wondering if the Switch 2 will offer much more than incremental changes. Many feel that the device in the image looks almost identical to the existing Switch, aside from the new button. Whether this image is a legitimate preview of the new console or just another piece of fan speculation remains to be seen, and only official confirmation from Nintendo can settle the matter.
Currently, Nintendo has shared very little information about the Switch 2’s design or features. The company has confirmed that the new console will be backward compatible with existing Switch games, but details beyond that remain scarce. With this blurry image fueling further speculation, fans are left to wonder whether the Switch 2 will have a design that’s largely familiar or if there will be more significant changes when it is eventually revealed.
