The Amazfit Balance smartwatch is getting a fresh software update, known as OTA 7.3 Hotfix or version 3.23.3.3, announced by Zepp Health on Discord. Reddit user u/nurkamol also reported a similar update under version 3.23.4.1, hinting at slight regional or device-specific variations. Though the update is minor, it includes two key enhancements aimed at improving the user experience, especially with notifications.
One of the primary changes is the addition of notification reminder animations. While this brings a dynamic visual to notifications, some users on Reddit have voiced concerns. They note that during the animation, only the title of the notification is visible, requiring them to wait until it finishes to see the full content.
This has led to some frustration among users who prefer immediate access to the complete message. Currently, it’s unclear if this animation can be disabled, which may prompt future updates if more users request control over it.
The update also brings an improvement to notification display styles and user interactions. A bug fix for certain apps, such as Telegram, ensures that the start of messages is shown first rather than the end, which had previously caused some confusion. This adjustment has been well-received, as users on Discord report that it makes notifications more intuitive, allowing for better functionality when reading messages at a glance.
Whether the update is being released to all Amazfit Balance users at once or in stages is unknown. To see if it’s available, users can access the update by going to their profile, selecting “My Devices,” choosing “Amazfit Balance,” and then tapping on “System Update.” As more users install the update, feedback on these changes will help Zepp Health determine if further refinements, especially for the new animation feature, are needed.
