Ring has introduced an updated version of its basic battery-powered doorbell, the Ring Battery Doorbell, which includes several feature enhancements while maintaining a lower price point. This new model aims to provide improved functionality at an accessible cost, aligning it more closely with Ring’s higher-end offerings.
A significant upgrade in this new model is its battery life, which boasts a 23% improvement compared to its predecessor. Additionally, the doorbell features a new pin-push mount that simplifies the installation process and makes detachment easier for recharging the battery.
The Ring Battery Doorbell now includes Head-to-Toe HD video, which offers vertical visibility similar to the more expensive Ring Battery Doorbell Plus and Pro models. It also supports color night vision and retains key features like motion detection and real-time alerts. Users can connect the doorbell to Alexa-compatible devices and have the option to purchase a subscription package for enhanced smart alerts and notifications.
Preorders for the Ring Battery Doorbell are available starting today on Ring’s website and Amazon, with a price tag of $100. Shipments for the new doorbell are scheduled to begin on September 4.
