Google has quickly released a patch for its Android 15 QPR1 Beta 1.1, addressing issues from the initial beta launch. This patch, which is now available for a range of devices including the new Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL, also extends to earlier models like the Pixel 6 series and Pixel 8 series, as well as the original Fold and Tablet. The update aims to resolve a specific critical issue identified in the beta phase.
The update, marked as version AP41.240726.010, includes a fix for a problem that caused certain devices to restart spontaneously. This issue, categorized as #361916913 in Google’s bug tracking, was reported to cause frequent, random reboots when the devices were not in use. The quick rollout of this minor patch highlights Google’s responsiveness to critical issues affecting user experience.
Despite the relatively small size of the patch, with reports of it being around 4MB for most devices and 445MB for the Pixel 9 Pro XL, users have noted its importance due to the fix it provides. Google has also shared that users might encounter typical issues like stability, battery, and performance problems during the test phase.
The timing of the Android 15 QPR1 Beta 1 release was unusual, as it came before the stable OS version was available. The initial update, which was about 500MB, included changes to the Do Not Disturb (DND) feature. Users noticed a new “Priority Mode” setting that allows for more customized control over interruptions, including options to filter notifications from specific people, apps, and alarms.
Looking ahead, the stable version of Android 15 is anticipated to be released in October, according to recent rumors. This release has been delayed from its initially expected September rollout as Google continues to address stability issues from the beta phase. The company is working to ensure that the final version provides a smoother user experience.
