The 2026 Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series introduces a luxurious twist to the traditional Mercedes roadster, focusing on enhanced comfort and distinctive design elements. This new model deviates from the typical ultra-long limousines and large SUVs associated with the Maybach brand, opting instead for a more refined roadster experience with a range of unique updates.
Externally, the SL 680 Monogram Series offers two distinct “design concepts”: Red Ambience and White Ambience. Both options feature a Maybach-specific illuminated grille and an upright Mercedes tri-star emblem on the hood.
The car is adorned with rose gold accents in the headlights, a chrome-finished windshield frame, and a choice between five-hole Monoblock or multi-spoke 21-inch wheels. Additionally, the black soft top is detailed with a pattern of Maybach logos, which can also be added to the hood as a custom option.
The rear of the vehicle sees several exclusive changes, including Maybach-specific taillights, a new chrome-trimmed rear fascia, and a redesigned diffuser with unique exhaust outlets. These updates contribute to the SL 680’s distinct and luxurious appearance, setting it apart from other models in the SL lineup.
Inside, the cabin is luxuriously appointed with Crystal White Nappa leather covering various surfaces, including the door panels, center console, and seats. The space behind the seats, typically reserved for a rear bench, is also finished in Nappa leather. While details on rear seating options are not specified, the interior features a special steering wheel, stainless steel pedals, and door sills, enhancing the overall luxury experience.
Mechanically, the Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series shares much with the AMG SL63, including the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine that produces 577 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, driving all four wheels. It includes standard rear-axle steering and a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Focused on comfort, the vehicle boasts more sound-deadening, a quieter exhaust system, a softer suspension, and softer engine mounts, with a 0-60 mph time of 4.0 seconds and a top speed electronically limited to 160 mph. Pricing details are yet to be announced, but deliveries are expected to start in the second half of 2025.
