Apple has released the first episode of its new Boundless series, which is now available in the US. The series is designed for Apple Vision Pro owners with an Apple TV+ subscription, offering immersive experiences that transport viewers to extraordinary locations and introduce them to inspiring people.
The debut episode, titled “Hot Air Balloons,” is a six-minute video that takes viewers on a breathtaking journey over Turkey’s iconic rock formations. Guided by the first woman hot-air balloon pilot from Cappadocia, this episode showcases the unique perspective and beauty of the region from above.
Currently, “Hot Air Balloons” is exclusive to the US, but Apple plans to roll it out to the other eight countries where the Vision Pro is sold by the fall. This staggered release aims to gradually expand the availability of immersive content to a global audience.
Following “Hot Air Balloons,” the second episode, “Arctic Surfing,” will be released in all countries in the fall. This episode will feature a group of adventurous surfers who have relocated to a cold region north of the Arctic Circle in pursuit of winter waves, offering viewers another unique and immersive experience.
The Boundless series was announced just over a month ago at the WWDC24 conference, along with a variety of other new Apple Immersive Video content. This included additional new series, more episodes of existing series, and a scripted short film by the director of “All Quiet on the Western Front.” The high quality of Apple Immersive Video so far suggests it could become a significant attraction for future Vision headset buyers.
