Apple has released the fourth betas of iOS 17.6 and iPadOS 17.6 to developers for testing, coming just a week after the third betas were made available. These updates are part of Apple’s ongoing development cycle as they prepare for the eventual release of iOS 18.
Developers who are registered with Apple can access these betas through the Settings app on their devices. By navigating to the Software Update section, selecting “Beta Updates,” and enabling the iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 Developer Beta, developers can download and install the latest software. An Apple ID linked to a developer account is necessary for this process.
iOS 17 has already seen the implementation of all promised features, leaving the specifics of iOS 17.6 unclear. So far, no significant new features have been identified in the beta versions, suggesting that the update may not include major additions.
Given Apple’s focus on the upcoming iOS 18, it is anticipated that iOS 17.6 will primarily consist of bug fixes and minor improvements to enhance system performance and stability. This approach allows Apple to refine the current OS while dedicating more resources to the next major release.
