NASA to Start its Own Streaming Service ‘Plus’ to Offer Space Content

NASA Plus Platform

NASA is set to venture into the world of streaming with its new service, “NASA Plus.” This upcoming platform will offer on-demand, non-science fiction space content for viewers on TVs and mobile devices.

NASA Plus will be “ad-free, no cost, and family-friendly.”

The service will feature live coverage of future space launches, documentaries, and original series produced exclusively for NASA Plus.

The aim is to “better tell the stories of how NASA explores the unknown” and enhance its digital outreach, as stated by Marc Etkind, NASA’s associate administrator of communications.

NASA Plus is slated to launch “later this year.” It will be accessible on platforms where you watch other services, such as Netflix and Disney Plus, and will also be integrated into NASA’s new beta website.

Jeff Seaton, NASA’s CIO, mentioned in a press release that the beta web experience is designed to make NASA’s information “more accessible, discoverable, and secure.”

The site will feature details about NASA missions, research, climate data, and will provide updates on the Artemis II crewed mission planned for next year.

Once NASA Plus is officially launched, it will be integrated into an upgraded NASA app available for iOS and Android devices.

Additionally, the app will be accessible on streaming devices like Apple TV, Roku, and Fire TV.

While NASA Plus won’t offer shows like Andor or Strange New Worlds, it will provide a cost-free way to satisfy your space content cravings.
